Monocoque IMOCA

IMOCA60 Fliying with Finnair

The boat knows her way around better than anyone. She has raced in and completed the last four Vendée Globe races. A legend in the event, as this Finot-Conq design launched in 1998 took part in the Everest of the seas in the hands of Thomas Coville in 2000 under the name of Sodebo, then in the 2004 race with Sébastien Josse (5th). She was called Brit Air, when sailed by Armel Le Cléac’h in the 2006 Route du Rhum before becoming Akena Verandas with Arnaud Boissières who finished seventh in the 2008-2009 race. Finally, she took the name of Team Plastique, when skippered by Alessandro Di Benedetto in the last Vendée Globe. So she has certainly clocked up a huge number of miles, more than any other IMOCA… and she has not had to retire. The boat went through an important refit at Mer Agitée in Port La Forêt. She was relaunched last March.
